At Near River we live and farm on unceded lands of the Biripi people and recognise their ongoing connection to land, water and community.
Always was, always will be.
The most intensely anise-flavoured plant in the Australian flora, fresh aniseed myrtle leaves bring a clean, sweet liquorice note — more refined than star anise, more complex than tarragon — that works with equal confidence in savoury and sweet applications. Fresh leaves deliver the essential oils at full strength, opening up uses in stocks, butter sauces, cured fish, panna cotta, and native-forward cocktails that dried product can only approximate. Harvested and dispatched to order, supplied direct to restaurants, providores, and curious home cooks.
